This policy is about the personal data we collect, what we use it for and how we look after it. We will always keep personal data to a minimum. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

When you place an order and enter your name and delivery information, these personal details are stored in our secure database. Personal data collected by this site is only used to:
a. Take and fulfil customer orders.
b. Administer the site and enhance the service.
c. We only disclose information to third-parties for goods delivery purposes and to enhance your shopping experience
Our Privacy Policy summarised
- We promise to respect the personal information that you provide by keeping your data safe and private
- We collect your delivery name and address – this is passed on to the courier in order to fulfil your order (our own transport, DPD or Royal Mail) so that they can arrange for the delivery
- We collect the billing name and address; we need that to verify payment details and check for fraud
- We collect your email address so that we can send your order and delivery confirmations.
- We collect telephone numbers, so we can call you if there are any issues or to follow up an enquiry that’s been made. Mobile telephone numbers may also be used for delivery details and confirmations.
- For those who complete a VAT Exemption claim, we collect the users’ name, address and medical condition. This is securely kept, to adhere to HMRC tax regulations only. It is not used for any other purpose.
- We use tracking and technology to provide analytics and a better shopping experience.
- We respect your privacy and have always done our best to keep your data secure.

The Personal Data We Collect
Dorset Nursing Supplies collects data to make sure that we can deliver your orders, and to give you the best possible shopping experience through our website. There are several types of data that we collect:
- Data you type in directly when you place an order
- Transaction data includes the payments made and the goods and services you purchase from us
- Data you type in to send us an enquiry
- Data that records how you use our website; e.g. using third-party technologies like Google Analytics
We do not obtain personal contact data from any third parties.
When you order, we only ask you to provide the following personal information:
- Name and contact data for both the billing and delivery purposes. We collect your title, first and last name, email address, postal address, phone number and other similar contact data;
- The goods and services you want to buy;
- Medical condition – if you wish to claim VAT relief then we are legally obliged to collect the name of the person the goods are for and their long term medical condition or disability. We don’t use this for marketing purposes – we keep this information confidential, secure and only to account to HMRC should it be required;
- Payment details are collected on our website or over the phone. We do not store any credit card details – these are held securely by Paypal or Sage Pay. Marketing data includes your preferences in receiving marketing from us and your communication preferences.
We do not collect any other special category details, for example, about your race or ethnicity, religious or philosophical beliefs, sex life, sexual orientation, political opinions, trade union membership, and genetic and biometric data. Nor do we collect any information about criminal convictions and offences.

Dorset Nursing Supplies uses cookies on the website – these are used to provide the best user experience possible. Cookies do not contain anything personal, they are just used to give your visit to the website a unique identity. You have the option of browsing our website without cookies.
Website analytics – to help us know how well the website is performing, we use analytics data from third parties like Google Analytics which use cookies and other identifiers to gather usage and performance data. For example, by using Google Analytics, we can see which devices are being used to browse our website. We don’t know which customers they are as the data is anonymous. Storing your personal data
We take the security of your data storage extremely seriously:
- Your data is held on secure servers, these are regularly tested for PCI Compliance.
- By law we must keep records of transactions for at least 6 years.
- Our staff may print off order details which includes customer name, address and contact details. Such print is kept in the workplace securely until it has been dealt with, at which time it is shredded or otherwise destroyed.
- All staff have been trained on the importance of keeping your data secure and are familiar with this privacy policy
Marketing
If you have consented to our marketing, you may occasionally be kept informed of our offers and products that you may not otherwise have been aware of. You will always have a simple way to opt out of this if you prefer.
Your rights under GDPR
Under GDPR you have new rights which include:
- The right to be forgotten – this is where any information we or our data processors hold is erased. We can erase everything except what we need to keep for UK Legal Purposes (e.g. proof of invoice and any VAT Relief claims)
- The right to object – for example, if you don’t want to receive our email newsletters or don’t like the way we’re administrating your data, you can object to it
- The right to rectification – under GDPR, you can ask to update your personal data if it is incorrect or incomplete
- The right of access – this is where you have the right to know how your data is being used and why
As above you have a right to know what data we hold about you and are welcome to enquire at any time. Please do get in touch and allow us up to 30 days to provide you this. If anything is incorrect, or requires updating, please let us know.
Similarly, if you want us to delete any of your data, we’ll work with you on that. Please note that as Dorset Nursing Supplies only retains the necessary data upon an order, and as we don’t ask anything other than the data we need to process that order, then we may need to keep a certain amount of data on record which we can inform you of.
